Do you fit in to suit other people or fit in to suit yourself?

Do you fit in to suit other people or fit in to suit yourself?

Do you often see the same handbags and the same shoes, even the same hairstyles? Trends are everywhere! Predominantly teenagers have all these similarities and more! Their mobile phones and ipods are attached at the hip! Why should a 14 year old feel worried about going to school because they haven’t bought the latest fad? Why should we need to buy materialistic things to make ourselves feel good or to be part of something? The pressure to look a certain way and buy certain things is becoming out of control!

As a teenager I was very much into following the trends, but since I went to Uni several years ago now I began to develop my own style. Until individualism becomes a trend, teenagers are always going to look like clones - they need to follow the trends, to feel as though they belong.
