Minus
Remembering the days when I would hear ‘The Others, feat. TV Rock’ on the dance floor amongst the housey beats was a memory of enjoying those house tunes and dancing like a maniac, being a young excited teen. It was a favourite on the dance floors for quite a while.
The Dukes Of Windsor have come a long way since first releasing this single in 2007.
Hearing their newest album ‘Minus’ is a whole new fresh approach. These guys have made a huge leap into the indie/electro/pop genre, and it works!
They have attitude, catchy guitar rifts, and sounding like a band but with a pop feel, stripping their house look and are now showing off their new indie/electro look.
Their next track ‘It’s A War’ felt like it was being air-played constantly and they have used this track to catapult their latest album and new sound.
Making an impression straight away with their first single ‘No Disguise’ expresses a hard rock beat with strong lyrics making you wanting more and actually listen to the rest of the cd.
Their album has such a diverse sound and melody from dark to uplifting, to electro right back to indie/alternative.
With bands like Infusion and the Presets who have mastered the combination of alternative, electronic and pop, there are definitely influences of these guys oozing through these new tunes.
It is refreshing to hear something different from guys who started out in the house genre, showing they’ve got what it takes to succeed in the music industry and give themselves an individual look and sound.
